How does self storage work?

Decide what size unit you require

All sizes are listed here on our website. The largest is nearly 6 metres long and 2.3 metres wide, they are all just under 2.5 metres tall, so you can stand up in them easily.

Obviously it depends on what you need to store and for how long. We have several customers who have long term storage with us, and don’t forget we offer a discount for periods longer than six months.

What can I store?

Virtually anything, except the obvious things like fuel or perishable goods such as food. If you are storing machinery be sure to drain the fuel out first.

The best habit to get into is to box things and label clearly what is inside. Boxes are easier to stack and move around and labelling makes it easier to find what you are looking for!

How do I book?

Decide what date you need your storage to begin, work out what size you need and then simply call us direct on 01623 206 777 to check availability and book.

To secure your unit, we ask you to pay your 1st month rental in advance. You can book 7 days in advance.

Locks – we supply one for £24, which is payable at the time of booking. This is yours to keep after the storage period has elapsed. All of the locks that we supply are new, so you can be sure that no one else will have access to your storage container.

Once all the above has been done, you will receive an email with your unit number, map of site and your booking form. For convenience we include a code to enable immediate access to the site.

How do I access my storage?

Layn Self Storage is open between 7am and 9pm, 365 days of the year. You can drive right up to your container to make unloading and loading as easy as possible. Once you arrive on site, inside your unit which is clearly signed, you will find a copy of our terms and condition and your padlock.

When exiting the site, pop a signed copy of our terms and conditions into our post box.

How do I pay after the first month?

On a monthly basis you will receive an invoice. This can either be paid direct into our bank account or over the telephone by debit or credit card. When you no longer require your unit, all we ask for is 14 days written notice.

If you require any more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
